Caramel Apple Love- Fall Y'all!
Hello everyone! Thank you for taking the time to stop and read Emily’s Eats Blog.
Today we are going to talk about a trick for making caramel apples. Why? Because it’s FALL!
If you buy apples from the grocery store they are coated in a wax. This wax needs to be removed in order for the caramel to stick. There are a few ways you can do this. You can wash them in very hot water lightly scrubbing them or you can boil them for a minute.
Personally I wash them in the sink…… Less dishes. :)
Lay the washed/boiled apples to dry on a lint free cloth. They MUST be 100% dry before you can start covering them in caramel. Once they are dry you may stick the skewer into them.
Dip in caramel and roll in your favorite toppings. Around here we LOVE to dip it in caramel, allow that to set up, then dip it into chocolate candy coating.
Stay tuned… we will release one of our favorite “Caramel Apples in a Pinch” Recipe. No candy thermometer needed!
